Gilded organometallics : Carbon–gold bond formation occurs selectively and in high yields upon reaction of gold(I) bromides with arylboronic acids in the presence of Cs 2 CO 3 . The reaction is broadly tolerant of sensitive functionalities. The resulting aryl gold(I) compounds are stable to air and water.
