Neither Doric, Ionic, nor Corinthian! (HgC 6 F 4 ) 3 interacts with 1,3,5‐(Me 3 SiCC) 3 C 6 H 3 to form columns with peripheral trimethylsilyl groups. These columns self‐aggregate into a hexagonal solid containing pores lined by nonpolar methyl groups (see picture; Hg orange, Si purple, C gray, F green, H white), which can adsorb alkanes reversibly.
