Down to the wire : Pt II ⋅⋅⋅Pt II interactions provide the cohesive driving force for the construction of micro‐ and nanometer‐scale luminescent wires, such as nanowires of [Pt(CN t Bu) 2 (CN) 2 ] (see picture; Pt pink, N blue, C gray), which is a potential candidate for applications in nano‐optical, electronic, and sensory devices.
