Safe difluoroaminating reagents : Salts of the elusive SO 3 NF 2 − ion were prepared by aqueous fluorination of SO 3 NH 2 − with F 2 . These salts were characterized (see ORTEP of the anion) and shown to be excellent reagents for the preparation of gem ‐bis(difluoroamines). Salts of the intermediate SO 3 NHF − ion were also isolated and characterized.
