Cationic T‐shaped platinum complexes are obtained because of the high trans influence of the ferrocenyl(bromo)boryl ligand. Addition of 4‐methylpyridine to the platinum( II ) boryl complex (as shown in the cover picture) causes displacement of the bromide ion at boron, leading to a cationic platinum complex with a 4‐methylpyridine‐stabilized borylene ligand (bottom right).
