An amicable separation: The reaction between the two aldehydes and amines shown gives initially a dynamic library of 11 imines, which collapses upon the addition of Fe II and Cu I ions to give only two complexes. The presence of both metals was found to be essential for this selectivity; in particular the thermodynamic stability of the low‐spin Fe II complex shown was found to play an important role.
