From solid to solid : Electrochemical conversion of solid terbium oxide into solid terbium metal was performed in molten CaCl 2 under the conditions for Ca deposition. Electron transfer to the solid oxide was more effective from the electrode than from the deposited Ca, and the process was controlled by mass transfer in the porous oxide electrode.
