Close to original : A DNA‐like double‐stranded polymer is synthesized by ring‐opening metathesis polymerization of a bisnorbornene derivative containing a rigid ferrocene spacer. The polymer forms helices (see picture), supercoils, and ladders, which are observable by scanning tunneling microscopy.
