Back to the elements : The activity of Pt/K 0.95 Ta 0.92 Zr 0.08 O 3 for the photocatalytic splitting of water into H 2 and O 2 is greatly improved by dye sensitization (see picture). Among the organic dyes examined, the highest photocatalytic activity is obtained with cyanocobalamin (vitamin B 12 ) as a sensitizer.
