Rigid and rodlike , helical polyacetylene molecules self‐assemble hierarchically on graphite upon exposure to solvent vapors. Flat polyacetylene monolayers form epitaxially on the basal plane of the graphite, on which helical polyacetylene molecules further self‐assemble into chiral 2D bundles of helices with controlled helicity (see picture).
