Caught in a trap ! An S‐heterocyclic carbene (SHC) with a cyclotetrasilane backbone is generated by a [2+3] cycloaddition of cyclotetrasilene with CS 2 and trapped with C 60 as a chemical probe. It is demonstrated that photolysis of anti ‐dodecaisopropyltricyclo[4.2.0.0 2,5 ]octasilane and CS 2 in the presence of C 60 affords a methanofullerene (see scheme).
