Splice of life : The error‐free, rapid, and economic synthesis of genes is an important requirement for an effective functional genome. The latest developments in gene research cover the parallel synthesis of oligonucleotides on microchips (see picture), their error‐free selection through hybridization, and one‐step multiple gene construction by polymerases.
