A radical transformation! An efficient radical cascade reaction leads to functionalized five‐membered rings. Alkenyl radicals are generated from readily available terminal alkynes and a dialkyl phosphite. This tin‐free procedure can be run under one‐pot conditions (no slow addition), is high yielding, and can be applied to the assembly of fused bicyclic compounds (see scheme).
