Reverse spin crossover (RSCO), the reversible spin transition from the high‐ to the low‐spin state upon heating, was observed in [Co(C n ‐terpy) 2 ](BF 4 ) 2 (C n ‐terpy=terpyridine) equipped with a long alkoxy chain (AC) of n =14 or 16 methylene units (see picture). The wide thermal hysteresis of the RSCO around room temperature could allow such compounds to be used as molecular switches.
