Iron aggregates are arranged into a close‐packed structure through coordination bonds to give a material that displays a structural and magnetic hierarchy. The tripodal proligand nitrilotripropionic acid (H 3 ntp=N(CH 2 CH 2 COOH) 3 ) successfully traps {Fe 13 } aggregates, thus producing a lattice that displays three levels of organization (see picture of its 3D packing arrangement; Fe green; O red; N blue; C black; H white).
