Self‐assembly of hexagonal 3–5‐nm ZnS nanocrystals can be used for the large‐scale production of zinc sulfide nanoporous nanoparticles (NPNPs). The uniform, spherical NPNPs are monodisperse and have surface areas on the order of 156 m 2  g −1 . The ZnS NPNPs are more effective photocatalysts than Degussa P25 titania or ZnS nanocrystals in the photodegradation of eosin B at ambient temperature (see picture).
