Plumb line : A series of compounds trans ‐[L(PMe 3 ) 4 WPb(2,6‐Trip 2 C 6 H 3 )] n + ( n =0: L=Br, I; n =1: L=PhCN, PMe 3 ; Trip=2,4,6‐ i Pr 3 C 6 H 2 ; see structure of L=PMe 3 derivative) containing WPb triple bonds is reported. Quantum‐chemical analyses of the WPb bond in the plumbylidyne complex [(PMe 3 ) 5 WPb(2,6‐Trip 2 C 6 H 3 )] + confirm the electronic analogy with Fischer‐type carbyne complexes.
