Six of one and half a dozen of the other: A late‐transition‐metal octahedral cluster [Rh 6 (P i Pr 3 ) 6 (μ‐H) 12 ] 2+ ( 1 ) with six phosphine ligands has been reported with a structure and electron count akin to that of early‐transition‐metal halide clusters, and provides a unique link between the two classes of cluster (see scheme). Cluster 1 is also decorated with 12 hydride ligands.
