Sensitive and selective , a modular‐based fluorescent polymer combines a rigid electron‐conducting block (see picture; B) with a flexible binding block (A). The monopyridyl group of the coordinating module has a great affinity for Pd II ions and selectively binds them through self‐assembly. Thus, the fluorescent conjugated polymer may be used for sensing Pd II ions.
