Thermally stable silylene Si{1,2‐(NCH 2 t Bu) 2 C 6 H 4 } reacts with 1 H ‐phosphirenes to give the first isolated 2,3‐dihydro‐1,3‐phosphasiletes, a unique type of zwitterion, and 1,2‐dihydro‐1,2‐phosphasiletes. The novel 2‐phospha‐4‐silabicyclo[1.1.0]butane (see picture) is a reactive intermediate in the reaction, whose course can be tuned by changing the substituents.
