A radical with great implications : Matrix‐isolated CF 3 O radicals interact with SO 2 yielding CF 3 OSO 2 . (see picture) when the matrix is annealed at 35 K. The new radical was characterized spectroscopically and studied by DFT calculations. CF 3 OSO 2 . may have significant impact on atmospheric processes.
