Designer folds : The interplay of three design elements (aromatic donor–acceptor charge‐transfer complexation, solvophobic effect, and metal‐ion complexation) guided the preparation of a folded structure (see picture) in a synthetic macromolecule. Evidence for this is provided by UV/Vis and 1 H NMR spectroscopy.
