A new class of chiral phospholane–oxazoline ligands P* was developed for Ir‐catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation (see scheme, e.g. R=Ph; Ar= m ‐CH 3 C 6 H 4 ). High enantioselectivities (up to 99 % ee ) were obtained for the hydrogenation of methylstilbene derivatives and ( E )‐β‐methylcinnamic esters.
