Mine's a triple! The reaction of cis ‐[Mo(N 2 ) 2 (PMe 3 ) 4 ] with (Pb(Br)R) 2 affords the red‐brown plumbylidyne complex 1 (see scheme), which is the first compound to feature a triple bond to a main‐group element of the sixth row. The molecular structure of 1 reveals a very short MoPb bond of 2.5495(8) Å and a near linear coordination at the lead atom (Mo‐Pb‐C aryl 177.8(2)°) (R=2,6‐Trip 2 ‐C 6 H 3 , Trip=2,4,6‐ i Pr 3 ‐C 6 H 2 ).
