Polymer electrolytes (salts dissolved in solid polymers) often contain multivalent cations. The first crystal structure of such a compound, (poly(ethylene oxide)) 4 : ZnCl 2 , is solved by single‐crystal and powder diffraction (see picture: zinc pale gray; chlorine pale green; carbon green; oxygen red).
