The impact of the anion on the assembly of extended 2D structures has been demonstrated by two distinct luminescent 2D lattices. Shown here is the macrocyclic cloverleaf‐shaped cavity obtained from the reaction of a starburst ligand with Ag(NO 3 ). Use of the triflate salt instead results in a honeycomb‐shaped cavity.
