Aromatic CH silylation of arenes by 1,2‐di‐ tert ‐butyl‐1,1,2,2‐tetrafluorodisilane is efficiently catalyzed by iridium( I ) complexes generated from [{Ir(OMe)(cod)} 2 ] (cod=cyclooctadiene) and 4,4′‐di‐ tert ‐butyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine (dtbpy; see scheme) and provides the corresponding aryl fluorosilanes in excellent yields.
