Building butterflies : A carborane‐supported {ReIrAu 2 } butterfly has been assembled by stepwise addition of iridium and then gold to a rhenium‐monocarborane complex (see picture green=BH, orange=B, black=CPh). The method of preparation has considerable potential for the synthesis of other new heteropolymetallic species.
