Conversion of [(Me 3 P) 3 Ru(H)SiMe 3 ] into 1 and further on into the structurally characterized fac ‐ and mer ‐ 2 (see scheme) is the first example of a transformation from a [M]SiMe 3 species into a β‐agostic [M]CH 2 SiMe 2 ‐H complex; a reversal of the typical sequence observed in the rearrangement of silaalkyl metal complexes. This reversal is likely the result of SiH coordination to the unsaturated metal center.
