Molecules get together : Two dimeric and a trimeric [3+3]cycloalkyne (see picture) are synthesized, and their aggregation behavior in CHCl 3 examined by 1 H NMR spectroscopy, circular dichroism, and vapor pressure osmometry. The aggregate structure of the oligomeric [3+3]cycloalkynes can be controlled by the structures of the linker moiety.
