Ion bridge : A unique mixed heterotrimetallic coordination polymer (depicted) with a bridging [Cr(CN) 6 ] 3− ion is synthesized by the slow diffusion of a macrocyclic oxamido‐Cu II complex, and gadolinium trichloride into potassium hexacyanochromate( III ). Intermetallic ferromagnetic coupling is operative within the 2D layer, giving rise to an S =7 ground state. C=black, Cr=pink, Cu=blue, Gd=green, N=violet, O=red.
