In the first carbohydrate complexes of platinum( II ) . 1,2‐ O ‐isopropylidene‐α‐ D ‐gluco‐ and ‐α‐ D ‐allofuranose are coordinated to the trimethylplatinum cation only by three OH groups. These are also the only complexes of platinum that contain neutral carbohydrate ligands without anchor groups. The structure of the glucofuranose complex cation [PtMe 3 (C 9 H 16 O 6 )] − is depicted on the right.
