Remarkable ability for self‐recognition is displayed when a mixture of three different bis(catecholamide) ligands is allowed to react at room temperature with [Ga(acac) 3 ] and KOH in methanol (schematic representation below). These rigid, rodlike ligands differing only in the distance between the two coordination sites form M 2 L 3 triple helical complexes containing only one type of ligand with the trivalent metal ions M.
