An infinite, one‐dimensional chelating ligand  ∞ 1 [P 3 Se   4 − ] is present in K 3 RuP 5 Se 10 (depicted on the right), which was obtained by the reaction of ruthenium with a molten mixture of nominal stoichiometry K 3 P 6 Se 26.5 at 490°C. K 3 RuP 5 Se 10 is the first structurally characterized ruthenium chalcophosphate, and features very short RuP bonds (2.288(2), 2.262(2) Å).
