The first anionic fluoromercury complex [(CF 3 ) 2 Hg‐(μ‐F) 2 Hg(CF 3 ) 2 ] 2− was prepared from Hg(CF 3 ) 2 and TAS fluoride (Me 2 N) 3 S + (Me 3 Si)F   2 − , and characterized by X‐ray crystal structure analysis (structure depicted on the right). In contrast to the neutral compound, the anions can be used as nucleophilic CF 3 ‐transfer reagents.
