No counteranions or solvent molecules are found in single crystals of [Ru(bpy) 3 ] 0 , an air‐sensitive but thermally stable new material. Analysis of the X‐ray structural data reveals a relatively undistorted C 3 ‐symmetric system with empty lattice spaces, which are represented by empty circles in the picture on the right. This packing structure is reminiscent of those in electrides.
