Reminiscent of a windmill , the novel triple‐helicate [(Fe III ) 2 Fe II OL 3 ] 1 , a neutral oxo‐centered mixed‐valence complex, is formed in a one‐pot reaction by self‐assembly. The pentadentate ligand L acts in a tritopic fashion and connects the three iron ions in a triangular plane. At the center of 1 lies μ 3 ‐O 2 ‐ ion. The structural similarity of 1 with trinuclear carboxylatoiron complexes is striking.
