Two bromine oxides with more than two atoms have been structurally characterized for the first time in the gas phase (see picture on the right; top: Br 2 O, bottom: OBrO). Both molecules occur over a solid product formed in the reaction of O and Br 2 . Under certain conditions BrO, OBrO, and Br 2 O were obtained simultaneously.
