A missing link in the chemistry of rare earth metal cluster compounds stabilized by interstitial transition metals is the new La 10 Co 2 dimeric cluster shown on the right with its iodine environment. The most remarkable structural features of this cluster are the two edge‐sharing La octahedra, each centered by a Co atom.
