The twelvefold dehydrobromination provides the title compound 1 in a straightforward, easily reproducible synthesis. In the solid state 1 displays a well‐defined structure with C i symmetry, in which four of the the six branches assume trans and two assume gauche arrangements. Compound 1 , which can be stannylated, deprotonated, and complexed, should be a useful intermediate in the preparation of dendritic structures.
