An isosceles triangle of silver atoms is present in the novel heptanuclear heterometallic complex 1 (the structure of the core of the cation is shown on the right). In the solid state, 1 luminesces at 560 nm, which can be attributed to a metal cluster core d‐s/S → Ag ligand‐to‐metal charge transfer, dppy = diphenylpyridin‐2‐ylphosphane.
