Corner‐sharing, edge‐sharing, and face‐sharing FeO x polyhedra ( x = 5,6) form a cyclic complex anion in K 5 [OFe 6 {(ino) 6 21H}]·14.5 H 2 O (ino = cis ‐inositol), the first structurally characterized polyolato(oxo)ferrate from aqueous solution. The synthesis is as simple as the structure is complicated (see diagram).
