Transamination of the amidosamarium complex [{(Me 3 Si) 2 N} 2 Sm(tmeda)] with octaethylporphyrinogen (OEPG‐H 4 ) gives the dinuclear complex [(OEPG)Sm 2 (Et 2 O) 2 ], which has two Sm II centers and a short Sm–Sm contact. (In the structure shown on the right the Et 2 O ligands are omitted for clarity.)
