A trimeric palladium complex results from the reaction of Pd(OAc) 2 and the sulfoxide 1 . A section of the structure of this complex, which is obtained enantiomerically pure in the ( R,R ) form and contains two dative and two covalent bonds to palladium, is shown at the bottom on the right.
