An electron‐rich phosphanegold complex is used in the first catalyzed diboration of alkenes. The reaction of diborane 1 with alkene 2 in the presence of [AuCl(PEt 3 )] and ethane‐1,2‐diylbis(dicyclohexylphosphane) yields exclusively the 1,2‐bis(boronate) ester 3 .
