The anion missing from the [C n P 5− n R n ] − series has been synthesized . Ring expansion of 1,2‐dihydrophosphetes by reaction with R'PCl 2 provided the corresponding 1,2‐diphosphacyclopent‐3‐enes, which were reduced with lithium to give 1,2‐diphospholides 1 .
