The surprising thermal stability of the first monomeric, homoleptic diaryliron( II ) complex 1 arises because its Fe center is very well shielded by the sterically demanding ligands. The magnetic moment of 4.77 μ B indicates a high‐spin state of the highly soluble, air‐ and moisture‐sensitive complex.
