A big step forward through synchrotron irradiation: The novel phosphatozirconium compound 1 is the structure with the largest organic complexant that has been successfully analyzed by powder diffraction methods. Even the light atoms could be localized and refined. The layers of ZrO 6 octahedra and tetrahedra of PO 4 and PO 3 C are linked together by hydrogen bonds, and could therefore be suitable for ion‐exchange and intercalation reactions.
