The formation of four structurally favorable five‐membered chelate rings stabilizes the first isolated organomagnesium phosphane complex 2 . This complex is obtained by the addition of MgCl 2 to the new organolithium reagent 1 . The structure of 2 , in which the Mg atom is six‐coordinate with a distorted octahedral coordination geometry, is maintained in solution.
