A quantitative and stereoselective synthesis of rac ‐metallocenes has been developed for the first time. The novel rac ‐metallocenes 1 were obtained from readily accessible homoleptic metal amides and nondeprotonated cyclopentadienes. Complexes of this type can be considered as catalysts of isotactic olefin polymerization. M = Zr, Hf; Y = NPh, C 5 H 4 .
